No experience is really complete without having tastes the typical dishes of the place you are visiting. In Aeolian Island it’s simple, there’s plenty of options ! You can chose among pane canzatu, totanu chinu, nacatula and a drop of Malvasia and you will be inebriated by a triumph of savours you’ll never forget.

Details:

Day 1:  CATANIA Apt / LIPARI

Arrival to Catania Fontanarossa Airport. Transfer from the apt to Milazzo port. Departure by hydrofoil from Milazzo to Lipari. Arrival in Lipari. Check in. Settling into the rooms. Welcome Cocktail. Dinner and overnight stay.


Day 2: LIPARI – VOLCANO

Breakfast. Departure by boat to Volcano. Circumnavigation of the island by boat. Once on the land, it will be possible to climb to the crater (about 45 minutes) or take a bath in the mud, which famous for its rejuvenating effect on the skin. Tasting of homegrown goat cheese, the only example of the dairy in the Aeolian Islands. Return to Lipari in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.


Day 3: LIPARI – FILICUDI – ALICUDI

Breakfast. Departure by boat to Filicudi. In ancient times, the former island it was called Phoenicodes because of the typical lush vegetation of ferns found there. The coasts of Filicudi have uncommon beauty; you can admire, among other things, deep grottos such as the Perciato (perforated) and Bue Marino (Monk seal) and impressive stacks such as "La Canna". Free time for lunch. The trip continues to Alicudi, a place where time seems to stand still and the only means of transport is the mule. Free time for lunch. Return to Lipari in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.


Day 4: LIPARI – SALINA

Breakfast. Departure by boat to Salina. After a stop in the centre of Santa Marina, we continue by boat to circumnavigate the island, and then swim at Pollara, the beach featured in the famous movie "Il Postino" (The Postman) Free time for lunch. We continue to Lingua, home to a salty lake where salt was historically extracted (hence the name of the island). Visit to a local winery to taste wines and Malvasia produced on the island. Return to Lipari in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 5: LIPARI – PANAREA – STROMBOLI

Breakfast. Lunch at the hotel. Afternoon departure by boat to Panarea, where you can visit the small village with a pleasant walk along the streets that space out the Aeolian style white houses. We then continue by boat to Stromboli. A stopover is also scheduled for the island (Stromboli is considered the wildest island because it retains its connection to nature: for example, there are no street lights!). Back on board the boat, we will circumnavigate the island before reaching Sciara del Fuoco, a ridge of the crater where the lava pours down. From the boat you can also watch the impressive volcanic eruptions that follow one another at intervals of about fifteen minutes. “Maccheronata” served on board and tasting sesamini and Malvasia. Return to Lipari in the evening.

 

Day 6: LIPARI

Breakfast. Free day. Free time for lunch. Dinner at the restaurant. Overnight stay.

 

Day 7: LIPARI – PORTICELLO

Breakfast. In the morning, tour of the island of Lipari by bus (there will be a guide who will assist throughout the route by giving information about the island). Stops at key points such as Quattrocchi, a unique location so named because from there you can see a landscape whose beauty needs "four eyes" to be fully appreciated. We continue to Porticello, a town on Lipari where once the white quarries pure were used to extract pumice stone. Stop for a tasting of typical products of the Aeolian country tradition. In the afternoon, walking tour of the most characteristic streets of the centre of Lipari, between quirks and traditions, ending with a tasting of local products. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay. 

 

Day 8: LIPARI - CATANIA Apt

Breakfast. Transfer from the hotel to the port and departure to Milazzo. Transfer by bus to Catania airport.
