...more details:

day 1)
OLBIA AIRPOT – ORISTANO
Olbia has, together with Cagliari, the biggest and most travelled Airport of the Island. We are considering that our groups will arrive here, but of course the itinerary can be changed according to any different arrival and departure point. A transfer of 2hrs approx will bring us to Oristano on the west coast of the Island. Time to rest or for to visit the city centre independently.

day 2)
ORISTANO – CABRAS – THARROS – ORISTANO
On the second day we will leave Oristano to reach Cabras, a naturalistic area with the famous pond with the same name. This is a stretch of sea isolated by river debris, covering a wide area of 2000 hectares and representing one of the richest marshy ecosystem of the Mediterranean sea. Here we can find picturesque fisherman huts and a wide range of water birds like the Turkish Fistione (a dying out duck), the Pink Flamingo, the Cormorant, the Peregrine falcon and the Herring gull. Tharros, our next stop, is an amazing town of the nuragic period funded by the Phoenician. Traces of this period are; the two Nuraghes (particular buildings existing only in Sardinia, a sort of fortress or towers, representing the social life of the II millennium b.C.), the village on the hill of Muru Mannu and the Sanctuary. The ruins of the thermal centres facing the sea are proof of the Roman works brought in the aftermath, when Tharros lived a glorious period.

day 3) ORISTANO – TORRALBA – ALGHERO
The Nuraghe of Santu Antine in Torralba is one of the most significant among the Prehistoric buildings in all Sardinia, both for dimension and for the architectonic characteristics. It's formed by a big nuraghe surrounded by a village of huts most probably ruins of an antique farm house.
Once arrived to Alghero you will immediately note the link between this special town and Catalonia region in Spain, for architecture, traditions and .. a little difficult to see, but also in language ! The town is fortified by strong towers and walls of XVI century and placed into a valuable environmental contest; with Porto Conte National Park and the Marine Reserve of Capo Caccia. Its origins come from the beginning of XII century when it has been funded by the Doria family and lately conquered by the Aragoneses. Nowadays Alghero is one of the richest territory of the Mediterranean, for historic-archaeological finds.

day 4) ALGHERO – NEPTUNE GROTTO – STINTINO – SANTA TERESA DI GALLURA
Today have the opportunity to choose among the visit of Neptune Grotto with a further stop also in Stintino, or the visit of the National Park of Asinara Island (see description of the alternative tour, at the bottom of this page) We will reach the Grotto by sea with a nice coast to coast from Alghero, to admire the famous cave mined into the coast in millions years. Here we find La Marmora lake (sweet lake 120 metres length), numerous columns of stalactites, stalagmites and a small beach once housed by the nun seal. Stop in Stintino before arriving to Santa Teresa di Gallura with a pleasant drive along the northern coast.

day 5) SANTA TERESA DI GALLURA
This will be a day of complete relax to enjoy the breathtaking blue sea of Sardinia. We can surely suggest and accompany you to one of the beaches of the nearby. There are beautiful white sandy beaches in Santa Teresa as well as in the immediate surroundings.

day 6)
ARCHIPELAGO OF MADDALENA ISLAND or CORSICA ISLANDS
We leave you the right to decide where to spend this day; we'll arrange for you a full day on boat and all you have to bring with you is your swim-suit, your sarong and the will to discover magnificent places ! The options are: the Archipelago of Maddalena Island (north-east part of Sardinia that's also a National Park) with the Islands of Spargi and Budelli, otherwise we can chose the Archipelago of Corsica Island with the minor lands of Isola Piana (Plane Island), the Lavezzi natural Pools and Cavallo Island. Both solutions are beautiful trips and in any case a good fish menu lunch will be waiting for you on board !

day 7) SANTA TERESA DI G. - PORTO CERVO – PALAU – SANTA TARESA DI G.
A day for the shopping and independent visits in the most famous and exclusive port of Sardinia that's Porto Cervo, where all high class boutiques, restaurants and café are placed for the delight of tourists and Italian “vip” arriving with their yacht. Porto Cervo is for sure the icon of the elegance where is nice to spend some hours for promenade and relax. Stop in Palau another nice town on the coast before returning to Santa Teresa.

Alternative Suggestion:

A slight change on day 4 ; ALGHERO – ASINARA Island NATIONAL PARK – SANTA TERESA DI GALLURA
Leaving Alghero, we go directly to Stintino where we will board the ferry to Asinara Island.

Here, the wild nature has been preserved for many years thanks to the coming of particular events that made this Island gain the name of Island of the Devil; it has been a Sanitary Station for the quarantine, a prison camp during the First World War and one of the impregnable Italian prisons during the Terrorism Period of '70s up to the institution of the National Park. This one century isolation created a mysterious charme around the Island and in the same time encouraged the preservation of some virgin areas making Asinara National Park a unique preciousness heritage for the community. Our guide will escort us along one of the various itineraries, using the local coach, and will also leave us time for a swim ! Return to Stintino by ferry boat and arrival to Santa Teresa di Gallura in the evening.
This little supplement will be quoted on request.
