day 1)
Meet and greet at the Airport with our tour escort and transfer to the hotel with a short orientation tour of Rome, “The Eternal City” which includes a panoramic view of the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, Venice Square, the Spanish Steps, just to name a few of the wonderful sights. The afternoon free at your leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


day 2) Rome – the Vatican City
Breakfast and early morning mass. Visit to the papal blessing at the end of the audience. A guided tour of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel with the masterpieces of Michelangelo, including the Last Judgement, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Time permitting we will explore the Basilica of St. Paul, built over the tomb of the Apostle, visit the Holy Stairs, and the Basilica of St. Mary Major. Walk through the city center to view the many breathtaking fountains and famed Spanish Steps. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

day 3) Rome - San Giovanni Rotondo

Buffet breakfast. Early morning departure from Rome to the wonderful town of San Giovanni Rotondo in Apulia region, with two stops on the way. Firstly to the Abbey of Montecassino founded by St. Benedict from Norcia. The Abbey, although completely destroyed during the II World War, has been completely restored to its ancient splendour. Second stop in the small village of Pietralcina to visit the birthplace of St. Padre Pio the beloved monk whose life and works are surrounded by an aura of sanctity. Sinners, governors, lovers, workers and farmers have prayed at his confessional. For those who loved him Padre Pio was simply “a man who prayed”. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


day 4) San Giovanni Rotondo
After breakfast we can celebrate Mass at the tomb of holy Padre Pio, proclaimed saint in June 2000. A guided visit of the sanctuary follows, narrated by the fathers who knew Padre Pio personally. Enjoy a breathtaking view and ascend Monte Sant’Angelo overlooking the Gargano peninsula, and visit to the Grotto of Archangel Michael (one of the most celebrated shrines of Christianity).
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


day 5) San Giovanni Rotondo – Lanciano – Loreto - Assisi
Breakfast and early morning departure driving along the the fertile Adriatic coastline to see Lanciano; the small religious city with the 8th century Eucharistic miracle in the little church of Lagomtial.

After independent lunch continue to Loreto to visit the great Marian shrine, where a stop of three hours is scheduled, and to celebrate Mass in the church of the shrine of the Holy House of Nazareth; the house in which the Holy Spirit made the announcement of the incarnation to Mary and according to the legend transported from Israel to Loreto by Angels. Arrival in Assisi in time for dinner and overnight at the hotel.


day 6) Assisi

Buffet breakfast. Your morning Guided walking tour of Assisi includes many of the sanctuaries and the architectural wonders along the medieval streets of this compact town, which has changed very little with time. Visit the upper and lower Basilicas of St. Francis with the frescoes by Giotto featuring the twenty-eight episodes from the “Life of St. Francis”. Continue to St Claire's Basilica, to see the many relics of her life and to pray beside her embalmed body. Visit to St. Peter's Abbey with its magnificent stained glass windows. During the day scheduled Mass by the tomb of St. Francis. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


day 7) Assisi – Orvieto - Rome
After breakfast, early morning departure to Rome with an immediate stop in lower Assisi to admire St. Mary of the Angels Basilica, the enclosed Porziuncola, the thorn-less bush, the ever-present doves and the cave where St. Francis retired to pray. Continuing, short stop to Orvieto, a beautiful small ancient town worthy of a visit, famous for its cathedral one of the most beautiful of Italy and for St. Patrick’s Well. Arrival in Rome, time to relax. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


day 8) Rome - Airport or Rail Station
After breakfast transfers to Rome Airport where you will depart for the return flight home, filled with new experiences and stories of this tour. If your plane or train is departing in the afternoon or in the early evening we can schedule a Christian Tour of Rome including Basilicas and Catacombs.
